Unique Boutique Hotels to Stay At:

As you already know, boutique hotels are my go-to accommodation choice when I travel.
Below are unique boutique hotels that have stood out to me during my worldly adventures:
Unique Hotels for Boutique Travel:
Monastery Garden Bistro & Rooms: Česky Krumlov, Czechia (4-Star Hotel)

Every December, I enjoy doing an annual Christmas market trip in Europe.
In December 2019, I visited the Bohemian Czech city of Česky Krumlov. I only stayed in this charming village for one night, but it was one of the top evenings during my Christmas market trip. That is because I stayed at Monastery Garden Bistro & Rooms.

The owners of Monastery Garden were warm and welcoming and they are firm believers that when you stay in a stunning city like Česky Krumlov, your accommodation should be part of the experience – a place where time seems to have stopped to make space for dreams and exploration.

From the moment I stepped foot into this lovely and unique boutique hotel, I fell in love with everything and wanted to move right in.
Since I stayed at Monastery Garden during Christmastime, the entire hotel was decorated beautifully for the holiday. There was also a wood burning stove that warmed up the room and Christmas music was playing in the background. It was absolutely perfect!
Located in a 16th Century building, Monastery Garden offers a unique blend of different rooms for their guests. I was thankful to have stayed in their Signature Suite, which is considered the perfect place for the demanding hopeless romantics like myself.

The Signature Suite featured a gorgeous living room that made me feel like I was placed in the Beauty and the Beast castle with an amazing book wall. The room had a rustic and old-world European flare.
Hidden on the book wall is a secret door that led into the bedroom. The bathroom was also hidden behind what looked like a wardrobe. I absolutely LOVED the gorgeous bathtub!

In addition, Monastery Garden also has a breakfast bistro every morning where they serve egg dishes to pancakes and French toast to healthy granola dishes. They also have a great drink menu!
Monastery Garden Bistro & Rooms are also a hop, skip and a jump from all the popular hotspots in Česky Krumlov.
Sokkhak Boutique Resort: Siem Reap, Cambodia (4-Star Hotel)

In February 2020, I had the privilege of visiting the beautiful and historical Cambodian town of Siem Reap.
One of the top highlights during my time in Siem Reap was staying at the secluded haven of Sokkhak Boutique Resort. This beautiful boutique resort is situated in a peaceful section of the city and it is centrally located between the gates of Angkor Archaeological Park and Siem Reap’s town center.

Sokkhak Boutique Resort features 12 spacious and luxurious suites that are villa style, a sophisticated dining area, a stunning saltwater pool with poolside service, spa packages and more.

When my friend and I first arrived at Sokkhak, we were welcomed with refreshing passion fruit juice and a cool towel to wash our hands.
We also stayed in a beautiful Pool View Suite that greeted us with a stunning message on the bed that said “Welcome Taylor” in palms.
The food at Sokkhak Boutique Resort was absolutely delicious and savoring it all poolside was a real treat!
In addition, the hotel’s tuk tuk drivers were so sweet and were always there waiting for us after a fun evening on Pub Street and exploring the local markets.
Ryad Dyor: Marrakech, Morocco (3-Star Hotel)

I visited the dreamy Morrocan city of Marrakech in April 2019.
During my week in Marrakech, I spent some time at the cute and earthy Ryad Dyor. This stunning riad is considered one of the top boutique hotels in Marrakech and offers a warm, relaxing and unique ambiance.

When we first arrived, the owner greeted us with Moroccan mint tea and pastries that were absolutely delicious!
This lovely riad also features a gorgeous roof terrace that overlooks the entire city along with the nearby mountains. It is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy great food.

Ryad Dyor also has a Hammam spa and plunge pool with treatment spaces and a hot tub.
There is also in-house dining where you could savor traditional Moroccan home cooking and more.
In addition, this beautiful boutique riad has a dreamy fountain and courtyard area to relax and there are also personalized rooms and suites where each one is unique from each other. Each room at Ryad Dyor embodies the spirit of traditional Moroccan decoration and art through the architecture, mosaic and fabrics.
Hotel Teresa: San Vigilio, Dolomites, Italy (4-Star Hotel)

After ringing in the new decade, my first big adventure brought me to the South Tyrol region in the Italian Dolomites.
One of my top experiences during my time in the Dolomites was staying at Hotel Teresa in San Vigilio. This newly renovated family-owned chalet hotel is situated on the outskirts of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park and it is right around the corner from the ski slopes of Kronplatz.

I absolutely loved the Fodara room I stayed in during my time at Hotel Teresa as it offered Alpine comfort and a newly fresh wooden smell coming from all the décor that consisted of pine, larch and Swiss Stone Pine.
Overall, I had never felt more at home than I did while staying at Hotel Teresa! From the moment I checked in, the staff was warm and welcoming to me and ensured I was comfortable and happy at all times. I also really connected with the hotel staff and they did a lot of fun and unique activities with me.

Hotel Teresa also offers a wellness center, indoor-pool, Finnish and steam sauna rooms, Kneipp spring and more.
The spa area also offers water beds and hay-filled beds for relaxation. Every morning there was a continental buffet breakfast and, in the evening, Hotel Teresa’s talented chefs cooked amazing Ladin, Italian and international dishes.
There is also a bar to the side of the hotel that has a great bakery.

During my stay at Hotel Teresa, I had a choice of choosing a plethora of different winter adventures to do within the Dolomites.
I did a wonderful nature experience and epic hike in Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park where I learned all about the Dolomites’ biodiversity from the hotel’s ecologist. It was such an epic experience! The incredible adventures at Hotel Teresa makes it one of the best unique boutique hotels in the Dolomites.
Casa Pueblo: Tulum, Mexico (3-Star Hotel)

Tulum, Mexico is one of the most magical destinations in the world.
When I visited in late August 2019, I stayed at the beautiful Casa Pueblo Hotel. As Casa Pueblo’s saying goes “Our Casa is Your Casa”, this hacienda-inspired hotel is a breath of fresh air as it features a tropical vibrancy with a clean, urban design all throughout.
Casa Pueblo is also considered one of the best unique boutique hotels as it is sustainable and only uses biodegradable products. In addition, the hotel is 99% plastic free!

The rooms at Casa Pueblo feature hand-sculpted sconces by artist Justin James. There are also plastered walls, creating that Adobe look.
Casa Pueblo also focuses on providing unique experiences for the modern traveler like myself. They also create a home away from home vibe, allowing their guests to relax, enjoy delicious meals, get work done in a peaceful environment and connect with others.

Casa Pueblo offers an in-house restaurant that serves crafted dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, featuring local ingredients.
There is also an amazing bar that serves refreshing fruity cocktails, tropical smoothies and smoothie bowls as well as other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

In addition, Casa Pueblo also offers a pool, lounge areas, rooftop bar and events. There are also stringed lights everywhere and the décor all around is absolutely stunning!
Casa Pueblo is located conveniently in Tulum town and it is a 10-minute drive to the beach, making it a super convenient accommodation.
Brody House: Budapest, Hungary (4-Star Hotel)

My Christmas market trip in December 2018 brought me to Budapest, Hungary.
What I love most about Budapest is that it is a city filled with so many unique places such as Brody House. This awarded boutique hotel features a beautiful and old-world vibe.

During my time at Brody House, I stayed in the Droga Room.
Prior to becoming one of the best unique boutique hotels in Budapest, the building that Brody House is located in was once for Dr. Vilmos Tauffer, a pioneering medical practitioner who used the property as his city residence, office and practice.
The building survived the ravages of the Second World War, the Hungarian uprising of 1956 and the 50 years of neglect and poor maintenance that followed.
Later on, founders William Clothier and Peter Grundberg resided in the building, along with their fellow artist friends and would host cultural salons and dinner parties. They later named the house after the Hungarian writer, Sandor Brody.

When I first checked into Brody House, the receptionist greeted me with the ‘I’m in bed with Brody’ visa to gain access into the cultural and social life at The Studios where guests could enjoy events and social gatherings.
Brody House is also located in the heart of the bustling Pest side of the city and is only a short walk from the infamous ruin bars of Budapest.
Hôtel Monceau Elysées: Paris, France (3-Star Hotel)

Located near the famous Champs-Élysées is the posh Hôtel Monceau Elysées, which is one of the best unique boutique hotels in the city.
During my 27th birthday trip to France in late June/early July 2018, I visited Paris for the first time and stayed at this lovely boutique hotel.
The charming Hôtel Monceau Élysées is a stunning hotel with an appealing atmosphere. In addition to being situated around the corner from the Champs-Élysées, it is also not far from the Arc de Triomphe and the beautiful Parc Monceau.
A cool thing about Hôtel Monceau Élysées is that the rooms offer different colors and designs. I stayed in a pretty pink room with stunning views of Parisian architecture.
Hotel Andenes al Cielo: Cusco, Peru (3-Star Hotel)

For my 28th birthday in June 2019, I did a dream trip to Peru. During my three nights in Cusco, I stayed at the beautiful Hotel Andenes al Cielo located in the heart of the city in a bustling area called San Blas.

Located in a colonial mansion, which makes it one of the best unique boutique hotels in Cusco, Hotel Andenes al Cielo is in a short walking distance from the Plaza de Armas and Cusco’s best restaurants and shops.
Not only is this lovely Andean boutique hotel charming and quaint, it is also set around a gorgeous internal courtyard and has a picturesque rooftop terrace that overlooks the red tiled city of Cusco as well as the nearby Andes Mountains.

The hotel staff were warm and welcoming and they always ensured I was safe. No one was able to enter or exit the hotel unless one of the staff members opened the front doors.
They also provided authentic restaurant recommendations and always made sure I was well taken care of.
Bridges Da Nang: Da Nang, Vietnam (3-Star Hotel)

Bridges Da Nang hotel in Vietnam is one of the best unique boutique hotels for those looking for authenticity, cleanliness, fun, sustainability and convenience.
During my trip to Vietnam in February 2020, I stayed at Bridges in Da Nang that provided an amazing, creative and eco-friendly space as well as 25 stylish rooms.

With high-energy co-living spaces, Bridges offers fun public spaces like those in hostels, so it is a great boutique hotel for a solo traveler like myself.
In addition, each room in Bridges is inspired by a different bridge in Da Nang and the hotel is developed to meet the need for innovation.

Everything about Bridges Da Nang is eco-friendly and sustainable with zero plastic.
There is also a bar and café, workout room, bikes to rent for free to take around the city and local markets and they also have a Bridgeclimb experience where you could enjoy a 1.5-hour guided climb up a bridge in Da Nang.

The manager at Bridges welcomed my friend and I with delicious homemade Italian macaroon cookies and she also provided a great breakfast every morning of toasted breads with local honey and homemade jams she made herself. Breakfast also included a delicious Vietnamese pho option.
Browns Boutique Hotel: Queenstown, New Zealand (4-Star Hotel)

I did a bucket list trip to New Zealand in February 2019. During my time there, I stayed at the beautiful Browns Boutique Hotel located in the heart of Queenstown in the South Island. It is one of the best unique boutique hotels there!
Staying at Browns Boutique Hotel felt like a fairytale to me because there was nothing better than waking up in the morning and being able to walk out of my very own balcony that overlooks the mountains and downtown Queenstown.

My favorite part of staying at this stunning boutique hotel was how welcomed I felt by the owners and staff.
In addition to being a boutique hotel, Browns also is a bed and breakfast. Every morning, guests could gather in the dining room and enjoy continental as well as a crafted breakfast made just for them.
There is also always a baked goodie available for guests in the hotel’s dining room all throughout the day.

In addition, there is also an outdoor patio with a fireplace to warm up to and there is also a back gate that leads directly into the downtown area of Queenstown where the waterfront is located as well as plenty of amazing restaurants.

You have stayed in some very beautiful boutique hotels during your travels Taylor! The Riad in Morocco makes me want to go back and stay in more! They are all so unique and beautiful!

So many beautiful hotels. My attention really goes to the morocco one and NZ one since I am missing NZ badly.
Ah yes, I miss New Zealand as well! 🙂
They all look so inviting. I would be happy to stay in any of them. I will certainly consider staying in boutique hotels in the future. The Casa Pueblo in Tulum looks beautiful.
Thank you Tania and yes, they were all so beautiful! I loved Casa Pueblo in Tulum. 🙂
I miss staycations! This is a good compilation of unique boutique hotels. I dream of owning one in the future. Hope to visit at least one of the listed hotels 🙂
Thank you so much and they are all so beautiful! I would love to own my own boutique hotel one day too. 🙂
All of these places look amazing Taylor! I would love to stay in the one in Marrakech!
Thank you Katie and yes, it was so beautiful 🙂
I LOVE staying in boutique hotels when I travel! I find that the service is so much more personal more times than not. Your photos are gorgeous, as always!
I totally agree Alex and thank you so much! 🙂
Now this is a beautiful way to travel and experience a new place!! Such gorgeous spots – and the bucket list I never knew I needed <3
Thank you so much Brit! I love the authenticity of boutique hotels 🙂
Wow! You’ve been to a lot of places. Do you usually travel solo? If so, is it easy to make friends when you stay in a boutique hotel?
It’s half and half for me. I do travel solo a decent amount of times and I think the easiest way to still meet people is by staying in a hostel. It’s not impossible to meet people in a boutique hotel though. 🙂
We will have to go check out the Boutique in Krumlov when we go back one day! We’ve been there a few times but usually just for day trips.
Yes, you totally have to! It’s absolutely breathtaking! 🙂
We’ve never stayed in boutique hotels before, but after seeing these gorgeous hotels, I’ll have to change that. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, you totally have to! They are very authentic! 🙂
These hotels are absolutely stunning! I would love to go to some of them once we can travel again!
Thank you Bettina and yes, they are all so beautiful. 🙂
I love staying at boutique hotels, they have such a different feel about them. These all look wonderful, especially the ones with pools! I’m such a sucker for a beautiful pool! It’s interesting that some have social or cultural events, I don’t know if I have stayed at a hotel that has done that before.
I totally agree Elizabeth! Also, I love a good pool too. 🙂 A lot of newer boutique hotels are trying to hop on the cultural events train, similar to what hostels offer. It’s so awesome!
All of these properties are gorgeous! I think my faves are Morocco and Peru!
I loved them all! Those are definitely great ones. 🙂
This is such a great list, Taylor! It really encompasses the special, intimate experiences that I love about boutique travel. These places are insanely beautiful; I especially loved the New Zealand one with that VIEW! Thanks for adding to my ever-growing bucket list!
Thank you Elena! Yes, totally have to stay at those hotels when you eventually make your way to those destinations. 🙂
I didn’t know what a boutique hotel exactly was, but I’m glad I have read your blog 🙂 Thank you for sharing these lovely hotels! I especially like the one in Marrakesh.
Ah yay! Boutique hotels are so authentic. I love staying in them. 🙂
Hey Taylor! I was reading your blog, and came across this post. The boutique hotel you stayed at when you visited Paris was 2 streets over from my family’s old apartment, from when we lived there in the early 2000s. Every time I pass through Paris, I walk through the old neighborhood and it brings back such wonderful memories. I was so happy to see you stayed in my old neighborhood. 🙂
Hey Meaghan! What a small world. I loved that section of Paris. It was super charming and quaint. I’m sure you have very fond memories there. 🙂
