Menorca, Spain: Jackie and Mike of Tamburo Travels

“Since my husband and I started dating several years ago, we have had the opportunity to travel to some amazing, breathtaking and romantic destinations around the world. It feels nearly impossible to just pick one place.

When I think back to a few years ago after tying the knot, I can’t help but reminisce on our honeymoon to Spain. (For Mike, it was his first trip to Europe!)

There was something so magical about experiencing this country together for the first time. From taking a dip in the rooftop pool at Hotel Avenida Palace, to partaking in some serious R&R in a red wine bath at Aire de Barcelona and watching the sunset disappear on the horizon behind the Gothic architectural skyline, we thought that we couldn’t possibly beat it with our next honeymoon stop.

However, we were blown away at our time spent exploring the lesser known Balearic Island of Menorca. We will never forget waking up to take a dip in the crystal clear ‘calas’, hiking along the dramatic coastline or drinking a traditional Pomada cocktail while watching the sunset at Cova den Xoroi – a bar built into the cliffside.

We dream of having the chance to travel back to Menorca one day. It is definitely one of the most romantic places on Earth!”

Iceland: Emily and Karolis of Life of the Pilot’s Wife

Iceland, one of the most romantic places on Earth
Photo by Emily of Life of the Pilot’s Wife

Iceland – the land of fire and ice and for us, the land of romance!

Iceland was a dream destination for both of us. We met in Utah, so we are big hikers. When we got the chance to go to Iceland in 2019, we were super excited!

We decided to drive a camper van around Iceland’s Ring Road for 8 Days. By doing this, we often got to explore secluded spots like secret hot springs, black sand beaches and slot canyons! We also enjoyed soaking in places like The Blue Lagoon and watching puffins on a boat tour!

Iceland has so much to offer and it is definitely one of the most romantic places on Earth! It checks the box for beauty, hiking, adventure, good food and even romance.”

Maldives: Marisa and Hamey of This World Traveled

A couple laying in a heart carved out on the beach in the Maldives
Photo by Marisa of This World Traveled

“Hamey and I have traveled together for over a year through Southeast Asia and during that time, we have visited some incredible places!

However, the Maldives is a country that holds such a special place in our hearts. It is where Hamey was born and the place where we first met on a small island called Mahibadhoo.

Our bond first started over a love of the ocean and since that first meeting, our friendship grew and eventually blossomed into our own beautiful love story.

So, while many places we’ve visited hold incredibly special memories, it is the Maldives that we love the most!”

Seattle, Washington, USA: Farah and Ben of Life Without Schedule

Seattle, Washington - one of the most romantic places on Earth

“We spent a romantic evening in a hot tub boat exploring Lake Union in the state of Washington.

The perfect view of downtown Seattle made it an even better sunset to end the day! We’re grateful that we can be together in Seattle now because it always feels like home.

We’ve spent two years apart when I needed to live in New York and it wasn’t always easy being in a long-distance relationship.”

Prague, Czechia: Josefine and Dom of Red White Adventures

A couple enjoying their time in Prague
Photo by Josefine and Dom of Red White Adventures

Prague is also known as the Paris of Eastern Europe. It is one of the most romantic places on Earth as it features cobblestoned streets to its historic buildings that surround Old Town Square that spread throughout the rest of the medieval city.

If you don’t get lost wandering the streets with your loved one, then you may get lost in one of many beer filled pubs in Prague. You might even find yourself soaking up at one of the beer spas!

Prague is a city you can spend weeks in exploring but for a romantic Valentine’s Day, you need to catch the sunset over the Prague Castle at one of the city’s many parks. This is when the real show begins and the colors from the sunset just might have you craving some cotton candy. Enjoy the sunset with your loved one and don’t forget a bottle of wine!”

Cempedak Island, Indonesia: Sydney and Andrew of So Sydney

A couple enjoying a romantic vacation in Cempedak Island
Photo by Sydney of So Sydney

“Somewhere in Southeast Asia there’s a little dot on the map called Cempedak Island, a private island founded by an Australian entrepreneur who wanted to give people a peaceful, luxurious and natural experience.

There’s only a handful of private, luxury villas on the island that is complete with all the amenities you’d hope for, including five-star food. You have to take a ferry from Singapore to Bintan, Indonesia and then another small boat to this special gem in the middle of the ocean.

We woke up every morning to sounds of nature and fell asleep to the lull of the sea. Cempedak Island is the ultimate definition of luxury and romance.”

Baden-Württemberg Region, Germany: Anna and Daniel of Schwabentraum

A couple enjoying one of the most romantic places on Earth
Photo by Anna and Daniel of Schwabentraum

“To be honest, we believe that any place can be romantic, especially at sunrise or sunset (and of course with the right person). That’s why it was hard to choose the most romantic destination, but we came down to it!

Our most romantic destination is Baden-Württemberg, a beautiful region in Germany (where we’re both from), which is underestimated by many people.

There are so many beautiful places in this region like the Swabian Alb, different castles, Lake Constance or the Black Forest, where this picture was taken.

No matter where you are in Baden-Württemberg, you can experience wonderful things and there is something for everyone, whether you love the water, the mountains or the city. In addition, the food is unbelievably delicious!”

Fiji: Hannah and Max of That Wanderlust Boho

A couple enjoying a romantic sunset in Fiji
Photo by Hannah of That Wanderlust Boho

“Arriving in Fiji was a dream! After almost three months of constant travel, we felt exhausted.

All we had planned for Fiji was island hopping and relaxing in paradise. Each night, we sat on the beach to watch the sunset, listening to the sound of the ocean and palm trees swaying in the breeze with no one else around, but just us two (apart from the odd hermit crab scuttling past).

The sunsets in Fiji were some of the best we’ve ever witnessed; the sky exploded with color!

By day, we were snorkeling through the reefs, watching traditional performances by the amazing hotel staff and exploring local villages.

Fiji was the ultimate dream for us – a place we never thought we’d be lucky enough to experience and we shared so many special moments there. I’m so grateful I got to experience these special moments with my best friend and soulmate.”

Guanajuato, Mexico: Brittany and Paul of Bucketlist Bri

Guanajuato - one of the most romantic places on Earth
Photo by Brittany of Bucketlist Bri

“Of all the places we’ve traveled to in Mexico, one of the most romantic destinations for couples is definitely the colorful and colonial city of Guanajuato.

Half-European, half-Mexican, it’s a city that oozes romance. In fact, it is one of the most romantic places on Earth!”

Guanajuato is even famous for its Kissing Alley “El Callejon del Beso”, a tiny street so small that love-struck couples can share a kiss from the balconies on either side of the alleyway.

What’s more, Guanajuato entertains with its traditional night walking tour (and serenade) in which romantic songs of love and loss are sung as you stroll the city’s sights at night.

To end the evening, couples can reminisce at the La Vie en Rose French restaurant where candle-lit tables sit out on small balconies overhanging the lively streets below.

In my book, Guanajuato, Mexico definitely earns its place as a top romantic destination to celebrate Valentine’s Day!”

North of Albania: Sam and Andy of Weiss World

A couple enjoying a romantic getaway in the North of Albania
Photo by Sam of Weiss World

“Andy and I’s first and most special place we ever traveled to together as a couple was the North of Albania.

The North of Albania is absolutely stunning and very underrated! There is a lot of beautiful nature, delicious food, friendly locals and it’s also really cheap.

In the North of Albania, there is a hike you can do between Valbona and Theth where you will be surrounded by some of the most spectacular views! It is a 6-8 hour hike, but it’s definitely worth it!

We both highly recommend staying in a guesthouse in the North of Albania. The local families make you the BEST homemade meals and they are also super kind!

Overall, the North of Albania is one of the most romantic places on Earth for us!”

Lake Como, Italy: Taylor of Brown Eyed Flower Child

Lake Como - one of the most romantic places on Earth

“Even though I am still single as I write this blog post, there is one destination I fell in love with and hope to experience with my future soulmate. That is Lago di Como (Lake Como) in Northern Italy. (Heck, Lake Como is actually where I dream to have my future destination wedding one day!)

I visited Lake Como during a family vacation in Northern Italy back in late May 2018 and it was perfect! Between the medieval mountain villages, the stunning blue lake, sky high mountains and fairytale mansions, Lake Como will take your breath away!

The dreamy cobblestone streets of Como, Varenna and Bellagio offer charming cafés and restaurants with terraces that feature scenic views; stringed lights line the streets and hidden gardens are placed throughout.

I believe Lake Como is one of the most romantic places on Earth because it offers romance, serenity, adventure, good food and so much more!”
