Two women enjoying sangria in Barcelona, Spain.

Well Traveled is the latest private luxury travel club I’ve been using to find the best spots to eat, sleep and play when I explore a new destination.

My favorite part of traveling is being able to stay at a stunning hotel that makes me feel at home; eating delicious local foods; discovering hidden gems; going on fun adventures; checking out fascinating sites, landmarks, museums and I can go on. Well Traveled Club helped me find some of my favorite spots during a dream summer trip to Barcelona, Spain.

During June 2022, I did a big Europe trip for my 31st birthday with a few travel bloggers. I started my trip visiting Barcelona, Spain for the first time. From there, I also got to enjoy wine tasting in the Priorat wine region of Catalonia and savored delicious paella from its birthplace of Valencia.

After Spain, I made my way to the small country of Andorra, which is situated in the Pyrenees Mountains, between Spain and France. Then, I spent a full week exploring the French Riviera before ending my trip in Northern Italy.

In this article, discover how this amazing luxury travel club helped Caitlin of My Darling Passport and I have the most memorable time in Barcelona, Spain.

Traveling to Barcelona, Spain with Well Traveled Club:

Sangria from Hotel Colon in Barcelona - a great rooftop bar found through Well Traveled Club, a luxury travel club

From our hotel to all the restaurants, bars and landmarks we visited in Barcelona, Caitlin and I had an unforgettable time in this incredible city of Catalonia!

Traveling to Barcelona from New York is easy, but planning the nitty gritty can be overwhelming when you’re already busy with other things. That’s where this great travel membership comes in handy!

Both of us loved how Well Traveled Club saved us a lot of time planning our Barcelona trip. There is nothing worse than wasting time on a once-in-a-lifetime travel experience trying to figure out where to go and booking reservations last minute.

(Don’t forget, you can find the best flights through Skyscanner!)

Staying at Kimpton Vividora with the Best Luxury Travel Club in the World:

A woman relaxing at the rooftop pool at Kimpton Vivadora in Barcelona. A hotel founded through Well Traveled Club, a luxury travel club.

In fact, this incredible international travel club also offers a personalized hotel booking service! Caitlin and I love luxury hotels when we travel and I always enjoy staying at Kimpton properties around the world. Well Traveled Club organized our three-night stay at Kimpton Vividora in Barcelona and we had a lovely time.

Well Traveled made sure that our hotel was centrally located in the city – in between Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter. We were welcomed with a delicious treat, goodie bag and a room upgrade at the Kimpton.

A welcome greeting from Well Traveled Club, a luxury travel club and membership

Overall, Kimpton Vividora in Barcelona City Centre is considered a residential refinement with chic hotel rooms, a Mediterranean restaurant called Fauna, a coffee and cocktail bar as well as a fun rooftop terrace with a pool.

During our trip to Barcelona with Well Traveled, we experienced nothing but the best in luxury, comfort and convenience. Our King Bed Premium Room at Kimpton Vividora came with a balcony that overlooked the beautiful buildings and architecture of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter; a comfortable king-sized bed; sustainable bathroom amenities and exclusively designed bathrobes to name a few.

Terraza de Vivi at Kimpton Barcelona - a luxury hotel and rooftop found through Well Traveled Club

Another reason why Well Traveled Club chose Kimpton Vividora as the best hotel for us is because it also has a rooftop bar and pool called Terraza de Vivi. It is an intimate urban oasis that overlooks Barcelona along with the Mediterranean Sea from a distance! In addition, the tapas and cocktails served at Terraza de Vivi are great! (You can also enjoy daily brunch on this rooftop from noon to 4pm every day.)

In addition to the beautiful rooms and suites, rooftop pool and terrace, plus the restaurant and coffee bar, Kimpton Vividora also has a fitness center and you can also have your furry friend stay with you during your Barcelona vacation.

Best Places to Eat and Drink in Barcelona – Best Recommendations from Well Traveled:

Sangria from Bar Canete in Barcelona. A tapas bar found through Well Traveled Club, a luxury online travel club

What is great about going through this luxury travel club for your next vacation is that you can find the best restaurants from those who have already been to the specific destination you’re going to! Whenever Caitlin and I travel together, we are always looking for the top food spots. Below is where we ate, thanks to Well Traveled Club:

Morro Fi:

One of the top things to do during a trip to Barcelona is to visit a vermouth bar. Morro Fi is one of the most authentic and exciting vermouth bars to enjoy in this beautiful Catalan city.

Vermouth is a fortified wine that is flavored with botanical. To me, it kind of tasted like a cold version of gluhwein (mulled wine) that you would normally have at a Bavarian Christmas market. I found it to be flavorful and refreshing!

At Morro Fi, you can taste and enjoy vermouth, plus they have a lot of great tapas for you to savor with your drink. Some of my favorite tapas from Morro Fi were the chips with their special sauce as well as the sardines.

Terraza Martinez:

During a visit to Barcelona, I recommend savoring delicious paella with a view at Terraza Martinez. Located in Parc de Montjuïc, Terraza Martinez has some of the most delicious paella in the city, plus, you can enjoy incredible views of Barcelona and the nearby beaches!

At Terraza Martinez, we had the langoustine paella with croquettes, pan con tomate and fresh sangria. Everything was delicious!

Bar Cañete:

Whenever I visit Spain, I always love indulging in delicious tapas. In fact, tapas are one of my favorite things about this beautiful country!

Well Traveled Club made sure we got our tapas fix by recommending Bar Cañete to us. Located right off the famous Las Ramblas is one of the best tapas bars in Barcelona. Everything on Bar Cañete’s menu is delicious! If you’re looking for some awesome tapas to order at this quaint spot, I suggest the pescado frito, Galician razor clams and the octopus with potatoes and spicy tomato sauce. (The jamón Ibérico also did not disappoint.)

Soft served ice cream from Rocambolesc in Barcelona

Rocambolesc:

Even though Spain is known for its mouthwatering helado, you can find delicious soft serve ice cream in Barcelona that you’d normally come across in the United States.

Situated along the popular Las Ramblas, Rocambolesc has a vibe that is similar to Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory! Michelin pastry chef Jordi Roca created a colorful, soft serve gelateria where you can enjoy over 34 gourmet toppings.

Overall, Rocambolesc’ ice cream is made with milk instead of cream and it is the perfect snack to take with you as you stroll through the Gothic Quarter. Some of the best flavors to get at Rocambolesc are the baked apple and panettone. We wouldn’t have known about this cool spot (no pun intended) if it weren’t for Well Traveled Club!

Hotel Colón:

During a beautiful Barcelona afternoon, there is nothing like visiting a rooftop overlooking a stunning landmark. One of our favorite places that was recommend to us from our favorite online travel club was the Panoramic Terrace at Hotel Colón.

What is awesome about visiting Hotel Colón during a trip to this awesome Catalonian city is that it overlooks the beautiful Cathedral of Barcelona. In addition to the views, the sangria and specialty cocktails do not disappoint!

Can Fisher - a seafood restaurant located at the beach in Barcelona, Spain

Can Fisher:

Another reason why Well Traveled Club is the top travel club out there for anyone looking to go on a nice vacation is because they make sure you don’t miss out on exploring any epic neighborhoods in the city you’re visiting.

I loved how Well Traveled Club recommended that Caitlin and I have a nice seafood dinner at Can Fisher, which is located on the beach in Barcelona. This incredible restaurant has delicious paella dishes, grilled fish and fresh seafood tapas for you to enjoy during your vacation.

The two of us loved the seafood paella along with the cod croquettes! Even our drinks were incredible.

What to do in Barcelona for 3 Days:

A woman at La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain

From Gaudi’s architectural wonders to incredible shopping, Well Traveled Club has you covered on the best things to do in Barcelona. Since it was both mine and Caitlin’s first time in Barcelona, Spain, this incredible luxury travel club had us covered in terms of the best things to see.

Do a Self-Guided Tour through La Sagrada Familia:
Inside of La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona

A trip to Barcelona, Spain is not complete without seeing the iconic La Sagrada Familia. It is a Roman Catholic church that became the most prominent symbol of Catalan Modernism or Art Nouveau, thanks to Antoni Gaudí.

All throughout Barcelona, you will find buildings with Gaudí’s architecture. He wanted to combine Christian speech and biblical allegories with natural-looking symbols like geometric shapes and colorful stained-glass windows.

During a visit to La Sagrada Familia, you can enjoy a guided or self-guided tour where you can learn all about the history of this beautiful cathedral, the life of Antoni Gaudí and the biblical meaning behind this incredible Catholic church.

La Sagrada Familia is one of the most visited monuments in Spain. Nearly 5 million people visit this beautiful cathedral every year. It’s also important to note that La Sagrada Familia is not completed. There is still construction going on when you visit this breathtaking cathedral and it is expected to be finished in 2026!

It costs €26 for an individual ticket. With that price, you also get an audio guide, but you’ll need to download the Sagrada Familia Official app to do the self-guided tour. Guided tours cost €30 with a specialized guide. You can also enjoy a guided tour of the cathedral and towers for €40. La Sagrada Familia is open every day from 9am to 8pm. I’m glad Well Traveled informed us to get our tickets beforehand. That’s another reason why it is considered the best luxury travel club!

Walk through the Palau de la Música Catalana:
A woman exploring Palau de la Musica Catalana - a site founded through Well Traveled Club, a luxury travel club

Built in the early 1900s by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, the Palau de la Música Catalana is the most beautiful concert hall in Barcelona, Spain. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Palau de la Música Catalana is considered an architectural jewel of Catalan Art Nouveau.

From its tile work to stained glass and mosaics to design, I am glad that Well Traveled Club suggested we visit this stunning spot.

It costs €15 to do a self-guided tour and €19 for a guided tour. The concert hall is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 9pm. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, it is open from 9:30am to 1pm and two hours before a concert.

Admire Gaudí’s Work at Park Güell:
A woman enjoying a beautiful sunny day in Barcelona, Spain at Park Guell

Designed by Gaudí, Park Güell is one of the most impressive public parks in the world. Even though it was never completed, this beautiful park is a great place to visit and stroll around during a lovely day in Barcelona, Spain.

Please note that it costs €13.50 for an adult ticket (ages 13-64); €9.33 for a children’s ticket (ages 7-12); €9.33 for a senior citizen ticket (ages 65 and older) and it’s free for young children (ages 6 and under). The park is open every day from 9:30am to 7:30pm.

Enjoy an Immersive Experience at Casa Batlló:
Gaudi's Casa Batllo in Barcelona

Another Gaudí masterpiece that you cannot miss out on visiting during your time in Barcelona, Spain is the Casa Batlló. It is a great art gallery and museum that provides visitors with an interactive experience.

At Casa Batlló, you can learn all about Antoni Gaudí; experience the architectural wonders of early 20th Century Barcelona; listen to the beautiful music made by British composer, Dani Howard and enjoy beautiful views on the rooftop.

Casa Batlló is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and during a trip to Barcelona, Well Traveled Club recommends experiencing one of the Magic Nights. During Magic Nights, you can enjoy musical performances, great drinks and food as well as a dreamy atmosphere on the iconic rooftop of Casa Batlló.

Shop along Las Ramblas:
The city of Barcelona, Spain

Not only does Barcelona have incredible sites and eats, the shopping is also something travelers shouldn’t miss out on.

Las Ramblas is considered one of the most touristy areas of Barcelona, but you can find incredible shops from high-end retailers to boutiques. It also boasts the iconic Boquería Market where you can find fresh produce, plants and handicrafts.

A few famous landmarks to check out along Las Ramblas are Palau Güell, which is a mansion built by Gaudí; Gran Teatre del Liceu, which is the oldest Opera House in Barcelona and the Mirador de Colom, which is the Christopher Columbus Monument.

(One thing to note about Las Ramblas is that it is also a big pick pocketing area. Always be aware of your surroundings; don’t leave anything in your back pockets; try not to show off your valuables; zipper your purse/backpack and carry your belongings in front of you. In case an unfortunate event happens during your travels, discover what to do if your phone gets stolen.)
