A woman at Hidden Spring Lavender Farm in Somerset County, NJ this summer

Between beautiful parks, stunning lavender fields, magical rose gardens, lovely wisteria, endless tulip fields, gorgeous sunflowers and more, there is a reason why New Jersey is called the Garden State. One of the best spots to enjoy everything the Garden State has to offer this summer is in Somerset County, which is in Central New Jersey, around an hour outside of New York City.

During mid-June 2021, I had the opportunity to enjoy memorable summer activities that Somerset County boasts. I first started my solo adventures at Hidden Spring Lavender in Skillman, New Jersey. Afterwards, I made my way to the Rudolf W. van der Goot Rose Garden across from Colonial Park in Somerset, NJ. I also got to enjoy some rooftop fun at The Bradford Rooftop with a fellow New Jersey blogger and spent the night at the stylish AC Hotel by Marriott in Bridgewater.

Lavender is in peak bloom from late June into early July and during those months in 2018, I rang in my 27th birthday at the lavender fields in Provence, France. It was absolutely magical and I was so happy Somerset County allowed me to relive my lavender dreams by having me visit Hidden Spring Lavender Farm in Skillman, NJ.

Hidden Spring Lavender is a family-owned lavender field and farm that is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 10-4pm EST. During this summer in Somerset County, you can visit the lavender fields at Hidden Spring and even purchase bouquets of lavender as well as all-natural lavender products such as soaps, lotions, aromatherapy and more from the Shoppe on the property.

Nothing screams summer in the Tri-State area than spending time at a rooftop bar! Situated at the AC Hotel in Bridgewater is The Bradford Rooftop that features modern American cuisine and crafted cocktails.

During my stay in Somerset County, I met up with fellow New Jersey influencer Rebecca of Becsea where we enjoyed a fun evening at The Bradford. Overall, we loved all of the stunning decorations and there were plenty of photo spots to enjoy!

In addition to drinks, we both got delicious meals as well. As an appetizer, both Rebecca and I split the fried calamari, which was amazing. For our main meals, Rebecca savored the mahi-mahi tacos and I enjoyed the salmon grain bowl with farro, IPA braised fennel, kale purée and blood orange gastrique.
